Rebuilding Together Austin San Antonio (RTASA)

Having a place to call home is essential not only for the wellbeing of individual families and community members, but also to ensure Central Texas’ continued economic growth and success. Our homes and neighborhoods set the stage for our lives. Founded in 2013, Rebuilding Together Austin San Antonio is dedicated to improving the lives of low-income homeowners by providing essential home repairs that make their homes safer, healthier, and more comfortable. We follow the seven science-based principles of healthy housing—safety, cleanliness, maintenance, dryness, pest control, contaminant reduction, and thermal control—to guide our work. Using a 25-point checklist, we assess homes before and after repairs, ensuring that our improvements not only enhance the health and safety of residents, but also help them allocate limited funds toward other critical needs like food, medicine, and education.
